I really enjoy working for Birch Grove Day Nursery because of the fantastic and enthusiastic team. All of the staff care about each and every child’s individual needs and interests, and they show this by using the EYFS in their practice, and by providing exciting and educational activities.

I started Birch grove as a student and always looked forward to my two day placement. I love working with the children and watching them grow every single day and to be a part of their learning and development is so special. The staff have been so helpful and supportive, pushing me to do well and supporting my learning whilst I’m working towards my level 3. I am very thankful for the opportunity to do something I thoroughly enjoy.
Jessica Burke, Nursery Nurse, Level 3 Early Years Educator
I have recently become a member of the Birch Grove Day Nursery staff. I have had the best time so far, meeting all of the hard working staff who have made it so easy to feel welcome in the workplace. I have also met and gained relationships with both children and their parents. Here is to an exciting new adventure where I can show off my skills, imagination and ideas, whilst developing and gaining them too!
Sofie Preston, Senior Nursery Nurse, Level 3 BTEC National Certificate in Children’s Care, Learning and Development
I first began working at Birch Grove as a student then when a job was advertised a year after finishing college I applied and luckily got the job! I’ve enjoyed my time at Birch Grove over the years.
I adore working with toddlers and feel there is so much to teach them, from learning to use the potty/toilet to them learning how to balance alone! I love to help children learn, it always puts a smile on my face seeing a child learn something new and watching them get enjoyment of learning a new skill and how proud they are of themselves!
Tasha Pritchard, Nursery Nurse – Level 3 BTEC Early Years Care & Education
I have worked at Birch Grove Day Nursery for nine years and have loved every minute of it! I have experience as a nursery practitioner throughout the nursery and for the past two years I have worked in the baby room. I enjoy working with the children to provide the best care and enjoy enhancing their learning and supporting their individual needs. I really enjoy getting to know the children and watch them as they grow and develop. As a parent of three children myself, I know how hard it can be to leave your child for the first time at nursery and that’s why I will support parents and build positive relationships. Every day I love coming to nursery to see the children with smiles on their faces and enjoying their time in nursery.
Gaynor Simpson, Nursery Cook – Level 3 Advanced Food Safety & Hygiene
I love being with the children and forming bonds with both them and their parents. I thoroughly enjoy creating meals and snacks, especially when I see the children enjoy something new and different. Seeing empty plates an hearing the children say how much they have enjoyed their lunch gives me a great deal of satisfaction. Knowing our little ones go home with full tummies makes me feel like I have done my special part in their very busy day!
